Just a reminder to all students:
class participation is an important part of our daily lessons. It serves to tell me what you may not understand, shows you
are paying attention, and is a great way to demonstrate what you know. This especially important because not all of us are
good at tests or essay writing. Some of us are better speakers and listeners than test takers. Just because you don't do well
on tests doesn't mean you don't know the material. You may understand what we are doing in class just as well as those students
who are good at tests, but you need to show what you know in a different way. You need to show it by participating in class.
The questions you ask, the answers and thoughts you volunteer to share, the efforts
you put into your class assignments and homework, the way you work in group tasks... all of this is another way teachers can
see what you know. Its another way we assess your performance and we do take notice. Tests and essays and projects are not
the only way to earn good grades. So speak up... when the time is right! |
